Towards Refinement and Culture: A Question to Our Sheikh Muhammad al-Hassan al-Diodo al-Shanqiti
At the conclusion of one of the Sheikh’s lesson in Maliki fiqh the following question was asked:
“Sheikh what is this opinion? There is no dalil [Eng. evidence] for this opinion!”
The Sheikh:
“Such a question could not be asked by a cultured student of knowledge. This statement implies that the student went through all of the adilah [Eng. evidences], understood them, digested them and then came to this conclusion. One should not ask questions in such a manner.”
