inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oon. May Allah forgive him, have mercy upon him, allow his deeds to continue until the Day of Judgment and enter him into Firdaws Al Alaa. Ameen.
'Abdullah b. 'Amr b. al-'As reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Verily, Allah does not take away knowledge by snatching it from the people but He takes away knowledge by taking away the scholars, so that when He leaves no learned person, people turn to ignorant as their leaders; then they are asked to deliver religious verdicts and they deliver them without knowledge, they go astray, and lead others astray. (Sahih Muslim)

It is truly sad to know that Sheikh Muhammad Salim Abdul Wadud has passed…
He was strong on various different levels of Islamic Knowledge. I heard of people comparing him to the likes of Ibn Abdul Barr

This is truly heart-breaking news, and that was the first Hadith that came to my mind too when I heard about it.
May Allah forgive his sins and shower him with His mercy. Ameen.
Today, the most senior scholar in Pakistan, 'Allamah Sarfraz Khan Safdar passed away. Here is what a scholar wrote about him: “I recall during our Mishkat year at Darul ‘Ulum Karachi, ‘Allamah Sarfaraz Khan Safdar saheb paid an unannounced visit. All classes were immediately suspended and all the students and teachers gathered in the mosque. Hadhrat was requested to give a dars (lesson) on Sahih al-Bukhari. Instead of a student reading the text in front of the shaykh (as is the norm), Shaykhuna ‘Allamah Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani saheb became a student and very politely and humbly asked if he could read the text! I could see some of our teachers of hadith almost fighting for Hadhrat’s feet as he sat there delivering the dars. “

Shaykh Budaah Walad al-Busayri (بُدَّاهْ بن البصيري), who was one of the greatest scholars alive and was a colleague of Shaykh Muhammad Saalim, just passed away a few days ago as well.. may Allah forgive him and have mercy on him. These two scholars were giants who authored works on all branches of knowledge and sadly they remain largely unknown to the Ummah even among students of knowledge.
