if a sister is in menstruation she can perform many acts of worship other than fasting and praying. So she should perform lots of dhikr and du3aa, read the Qur'an, give sadaqa, establish family ties, etc.

Assalaamu 'alaykum,

Can you post a proof for this:
"for those who are not at 7ajj to do is to perform 7ajj with ones heart"

I heard that the Shaykh at our mosque talked about this as well and that not clipping the nails and such are a part of that. At first it seemed a bit strang to me, but after reading it here, it made me realize that is probably a thing commonly known among the people.

A proof would ease the heart.

Jazaka'Allah khair

R: This is for those who were not blessed with the opportunity to go for 7ajj this year. Those who were, have to complete the 'manaasik' of 7ajj during these days. So they will be busy with that, along with of course being in dhikr and other acts of worship that we all do wherever we are.

Another thing for those who are not at 7ajj to do is to perform 7ajj with ones heart. In the sense that you are aware of what the 7ujjaj are doing each day and do the same symbolically. For example:
1-When they say 'labbayk' while they're performing their obligations we also say 'labbayk' wherever we are, meaning here I am Allah, ready with my heart to do what you have ordered.
2- When they are performing sa3i, we also do sa3i in our 3ibada, which means we rush to perform it and we struggle during it.
3- While they perform tawaf, they start at the 7ajar al aswad to remind them that since it came for jannah, that is the goal. Also that it is black because of dhunoob, so that is a reminder to repent to Allah. Similarly, we perform tawaf with our heart, keeping in mind the goal (jannah) and making tawba from our dhunoob.
4-When they are in muzdalifa, keep in mind that the meaning of the root of muzdalifa means 'al qurb' closeness. So we should try to be close to Allah with our hearts.
5-Lastly, yawm 3arafa. Fasting this day is for us, not the 7ujjaj as they are not supposed to fast this day. They spend this day in 3ibada and du3aa, so we can also do the same wherever we are, and it is recommended to make 3itikaaf in the masjid to isolate ourselves from any distraction and focus on du3aa as much as we are able to.

J: The intention in worship should be sincere and pure, it doesn't have to be because actions in these days have more rewards. That is a gift from Allah, which as you said, encourages us to want to do more and really take advantage of Allah's blessing upon us. So, if your intention wasn't doing 3ibada because the reward is greater, it doesn't affect the reward. Insha'Allah it will still be multiplied, as Allah is al-Kareem.

I have some audio renditions of the takbirat of these 10 days on my blog. It's my latest post so you can download them there and put them on your Ipod and listen to them and repeat after it.

Is the intention that you are performing extra acts of worship because it is the first 10 days of Thul-Hijjah as important as the acts themselves? I hadn't realized that it was the first days of Thul-Hijjah, but subhanAllah, I suddenly felt the urge to increase in acts of worship. Does it matter that I didn't know it was the first blessed days?

Is this for people who are in the process of Hajj Masha'Allah, or for all the muslims regardless?

Jazakallah.
