Asalamu alaykum,
This summer I’ll be offering a number of classes after Fajir at the MCA in Santa Clara. Both brothers and sisters are welcome.
Daily readings after Fajir prayer: Starts a week from today [Next Wednesday] inshallah.
- Risalah al-Mustarshidin
- Reflections on the Muwatta [sanad will be given to those students who meet its requirements]
- Arabic Language [Nahwu al-Wadih]
- Fiqh Maliki/Usol al-Fiqh [al-Kawakib al-Duryiah/al-Ma'una of al-Qadi Abdul Wahab. Azhari high school book based on Aqrab al-Masalik with the proofs of the school based on al-Ma'una of al-Qadi 'Abdul al-Wahab]
- Friday: Memorization of Qur’an and the 40 hadith of Imam al-Nawawi [sanad will be given to those who complete the entire 40 hadith]
It will take an hour/hour and a half to read from all the texts. If one is not able to stay for all, then he or she is more than welcome. Don’t let Shaytan push you away. Any doubts you have, shelve them and come and spend some time so we can benefit from each other. We plan to sit in the back of the Masjid, so if sisters are there, please let me know so we can arrange a comfortable setting for you.
Costs: Dua
I hope to see you there. All are welcome and encouraged to come.

AsalamuAlaikum,
JazakAllahKhair Imam Suhaib
One question: when does it start? =)
Assalamu `alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh
Anyway you can webcast the reflections for those of us in so cal in sha’ Allah?
Jazak Allahu khayran
Subhanallah! Barakallah feek ya Shaykh. When does this class start?
Salam,
O, how I wished I lived in Santa Clara to take advantage of this opportunity…
I remember the after fajr classes with Sheikh Suhaib last summer…when we were actually able to do them
Wish I was there! May Allah reward you all.
i advise people in that area to take advantage of it because you dont know if this oppurtunity will come to you next time. may allah bless you ust. suhaib, ameen.
…..sounds realllyyy goood and My God I would be the FIRST to come…but I am going to admit that this stuff is a bit intimidating, and I dont know if I have the knowledge to participate. My arabic is really bad and so is my reading of the Quaran….I dont want to embarrass myself but at this same time I dont want to miss this opportunity. MY question is how much does one need to know to be able to gain full advantage out of the classes? Is it better if someone is more educated in these subjects to attend the classes? Or are the classes taught at a pretty low and easily understandable level?
Please reply back! And thank you so much for the classes!! Wollah…it’s a blessing to be able to have the knowledge to have the opportunity to provide these type of classes and garner the deeds from it.
JazzakAllah Khair
I think someone should take the intiative to record the lessons (Video Preferred) and then post them on the site. Would be really helpful for those of us who cant make it
Peace..
No way I’m in England
please make dua for me, maybe I can at least take some benifit from this gathering.
Asalamu alaykum,
These classes will be taught with very little, if any arabic at the most basic level. I’m thinking of just doing the 40 hadith and putting the Muwatta on hold.

Salaam Alaykum Imam Suhaib.
It truly was a pleasure to sit with you at the almaghrib class and you brought a great deal of meaning to the forty hadith by the grace of Allah. May Allah bless you…
I was the brother that had you speak with Abdullah al burtorikani.
Anyway, I didn’t get the chance to say but Jazak Allahu khair for teaching us the 40 hadith and bringing it back to the maqasid
Assalamo’alaikom our dear brother and imam Suhaib.
May ALLAH reward you and you’re family and may ALLAH bless you and your family for your efforts for the young muslim community.
It’s truly amazing.
Wa’ALLAHU lmosta’an.
Assalaamualayakum. I dreamed that I performed Hajj with you and your father last night.
Little Arabic? Basic level! Ausomme….that makes me feel a lot better…so I am assuming that no knowledge is needed for these fajr classes? Right Imam Suhaib Webb?
Awesome Idea! We’re trying to implement a similar concept in socal. Please make du`a’ that we do! and if you can get these videos recorded and uploaded that would be great!
AA,
Do you think you could deliver lectures via webcast? especially the Maliki fiqh classes? We don’t have very much resources on the East Coast (DC metro area).
Assalamu Alaikum,
I think we should have all these live webcast since we are having this in MCA and we have facility to stream live so that east coast and other who have kids and cant come to masjid can also benefit from this.
Wa Allahu A’lam
Assalamu alaykum,
I believe it would be best if it was recorded (in both audio and video format) instead of streamed live, since live streaming is very costly and there is no real advantage of that over simply recording and posting the recording online.
I will be talking to Imam Suhaib soon about what we want to do with this, inshaAllah.
Salaam Alaikum,
Did this start today? I looked around the prayer hall after Fajr and waited for a little bit, but I didn’t see anyone. Do the sessions take place in some other part of the Masjid?
AsalamuAlaikum Imam Suhaib,
I hope you and your family are doing well iA
Just wanted to confirm date/time/location for the after fajr talks
JAk!
Asalamu alaykum,
Unfortunately I out slept my alarm clock. Very very sorry, but I think my jet lag finally caught up to me. Let’s try again tomorrow.
