Jazak Allah khayr Shayk and also to Tariq Ramadan- The article elliquently describes the situation.

We need to continue to put pressure on our Governments and Arab Leaders.

i went to a demonstration this weekend- they were taking place all over the UK on saturday- mashAllah there was a good turnout- i was pleased to see so many non-muslims there too in support. we passed through the main city centre and there were loads of people out shopping etc, so inshAllah i hope that it has inspired them to read about the Palestine-Israel issue, and its history, and not to just believe everything they hear on sky news

it was a very loud but very peaceful demonstration alhamdulillah, and there were no anit-uk or anti- us slogans at all, which i was so impressed about. May Allah accept our efforts and may He bring victory to the Palestinians and may He force the israeli's out of Palestine humiliated and small.

tariq ramadan deconstructs the humanitarian west and reactionary east on the question of palestinian right to existence. the west and islam is always acting out on who is the victim in israel's treatment of palestinians. tariq ramadan understands the corner gazans are destined for, so he calls for non-violence, he is a real pragmatist. the greatest strategy in times of danger is the strategy for survival. however to a world conscience that is at best dead when it comes to palestine, confined to weekends worth of protest and picketing businesses that sell israeli products, what impact could we bring upon the hearts that are already deaf? shouldn't we call upon our own governments to consider a military solution to israel when US would not call the shots? we are a good 1.2 billion people living in 50 plus countries. can't we loan our own soldiers to keep the peace in palestine? they do it under UN flag anyway under fanciful names, in bosnia, somalia, haiti, whats wrong with creating our own peace keeping force? some of us can foot the bill and the others fill in the boots. israel may have the gall to terrorize a people armed with slingshots, but is dumb enough to do the same with half the worlds army.
