jsk ya ustaadh for this effort. we r really in need of this…

can i be allowed to make some points, bada ithnik.

: how do you feel about starting with a basic text text in belief, such as shk abh ghudas explaination of abi zayd aqeedah (from the risala)?

: u mentioned in the fiqh class the tarteeb in the old azhar system ( I believe these books are no longer taught in the formal system) :Ashmawiya, then 2 explaination of abi Zayd Risalah etc, and then sharh saghir and kabeer. But what happened to Murshid Muin, how comes this is not taught?

jsk again for your effort, pls keep it free always, may your account with Allah be not affected by the Credit crunch.

    Asalamu alaykum,

My teacher, Sh. Mustapha, told me that the Matn Ibn Ashir was never studied here. That opinion seems correct since I've never heard the older Azhari Malikis mention it. However, if one goes to any of the classical book shops, such as al-Halabiyah, he will surely come accross the text. Unlike most of the Maliki texts I've come across , I've never seen, nor heard of an Azhari that explained it. I'm aware from the African scholars who I've studied with that it is the first book memorized after the Qur'an. The Malikis of Western Africa give it a great amount of attention. That being said, If is from the reliable books in the school and priceless for the beginner.

    As salamu 'alaikum Shaykh Suhaib,

I greatly appreciate this effort, may Allah (swt) grant you tawfiq in it. Is the poem that you are reading from available on the Internet or is it possible to have it posted?

Also there is a small poem titled, “Isal as-Salik ila Usul al-Imam Malik” on Maliki Usool by Shaykh Abdullah Walaty Shanqiti. Are you familiar with? Do the two vary much at all?

    As Salaam Alaikum Sidi,

Will the Maliki fiqh and usul lectures occur on a regular schedule, or will they be sporadic in nature.

    Jazaka'Allah khair for you efforts
