“Where paradise lies…” by Omar Moqeet

spare daughters of eve,
will come and go
countless yarns their worth
has spun
yes, those tales inspire awe
and yes, i wish i was there
to defend the lady too
or see her of the river
set off that basket
only fools would
trade that associate of mulberry
for ewes wool

looms of gold thread
have none in equal barter
to be sure
but that ethereal thread
spun by you and yours alike,
is highest purchase of
men and theirs in life

may you be blessed
for those gossamer lines of wear

may you be blessed
for your lonely friendship with the moon

may you be blessed
for passing on the most beautiful of messages

please, let this fool lay at your feet
O you who has been thrice exalted here
and in the best of words before
