It is a shame when the comdedy channels tell the truth and the “real news” don’t

Jon Stewart is a good man…Jewish by the way. As the Quran says “Not all of them are alike”…

One of the reasons Muslims should not be anti-Semites but instead be just as our religion instructs us.

The way he took apart that ending analogy really “brought the point home”

notice how the crowd was so confused when he made the final joke. They had NO idea how to react to such a bold statement. Keep it up mr. Jon Stewart. Power to the people!

The most upsetting part about this is seeing the reaction from the 2 Muslim congressman. Can not even describe the feeling i get reading the despicable words from Keither Ellison (may allah forgive us all.) It was even more upsetting because Sheikh Suhaib had such good things to say about the brother after meeting him. I understand he’s a politician, but i would like to give him the benefit of the doubt and see his Islam comes before any politics. Do not know much about Andre Carson other than the fact that he is a muslim, and he voted YES in support of Israel, at lease brother Ellison voted “present” all though that doesn’t make me feel any better either. I just want to know what is the point of putting our support behind these brothers, if they can’t even stand up for Islam against such a horrible event not just in Muslim history, but in human history in General.

    To Disappointed:

As a constituent of Keith Ellison’s district, I have to say that I disagree with your dissatisfaction with Keith’s vote of “present.” I think it behooves the Muslim American populace to recognize the nature of politics is not synonymous with that of political activism. If Keith is not careful, he will not be reelected and his long term work on behalf of improving relations between Muslim and non-Muslim spheres, American or otherwise, will be torn up. I found most Muslims, unfortunately, reacted with a mentality that would rather see Keith make a decision which would detriment his efficacy in Congress, than a smart choice that was much better than a ‘yes,’ vote. Jon Stewart can do what he does because he is not subject to public vote, other than ratings. He does not legislate and is therefore politically irrelevant. It’s time for Muslims to have a much more nuanced viewpoint on these things and unless we know the details behind and underlying Keith’s decision-making, we shouldn’t point fingers.

Also, nobody should support Keith just because he’s Muslim. They should afford him his rights of husn-adh-dhann because he is, though. I, for one, believe he despises the situation, like any person who believes in justice and humanity, but that he cannot react in singular condemnation in the atmosphere of realpolitik.

    And Allah knows best.
