Forgiveness Notes: Let’s end the month by forgiving others

Asalamu alaykum,

This is the month of forgiveness and I know that my heart is full of ill feelings and the like. In light of my experience with a dear brother today I would like to encourage you all to post your kind notes (after you sent them post them here) to those whom you love, have wronged or just want to say I love you for Allah. I would suggest keeping names hidden as this will insure greater ikhlas. However, let us remember the statement of the Prophet to Mu’adh, “By Allah I love you.” and the man who, upon visiting a friend a friend “Only for the sake of Allah” was told by the Angel “Allah loves you as you have loved that man.” Allah will say in the Hereafter, “Where are those who have loved each other for my sake?” Thus, I advice all of you to send letters to your mothers, fathers, family members and friends expressing your love for them and seeking to mend any fences that may have been broken. Post your letters and their respones here.

I want to remind all of you that the one who goes first will be, as the Prophet said, “Whoever guides to goodness will gain the reward of those who follow him/her.”

    salaam my dear sister,

    I have been meaning to write this to you for a few years now, but I just have had no idea where to begin or what to say. I know you love me because we are related, but I miss your friendship. I am sorry for the harshness of my attitude with you when I saw you slipping from Allah's obedience, instead of being there to help you get through the tough times you went through. Please forgive me, please forgive me, PLEASE FORGIVE ME! It was so hard for me to deal with the loss of our friendship, and because of that I held a lot in my heart against you. I ask you to please forgive me... by Allah's Mercy, finally, the pain that was in my heart for the love we used to have for each other that was lost has been replaced with love, compassion, and sincerity in my desire to make dua'a for both of us to be guided and entered into Jannah!

    I love you my beloved. Please find it in your heart to forgive me, and may Allah forgive you on yowm al qiyamah.

    ALLAHUMA! FORGIVE MY SISTER ON YOWM AL QIYAMAH! FORGIVE HER O ALLAH FOR WHAT SHE HAS SLIPPED INTO! WHAT WE HAVE BOTH SLIPPED INTO! WHAT WE ALL SLIP INTO! O ALLAH! we are struggling to please YOU! ACCEPT IT FROM US ALLAHUMA AND IGHFIRLANA YA GHAFOOR! Igfirlana ya Rabana! Ighfirlana! wa salillahuma ala sayedna Muhammad

    Assalamu Alaikum. I have a family member whom I have not spoken to for 3 years:(.
    Because we have wronged each other again and again. This Ramadan she has been in my mind constantly, and I did plan to go first call her and ask for her forgiveness but I haven't had the will power. InshaAllaah this note encouraged me more and I will call her after I leave work today.
    I'll post how it goes InshaAllaah.
    Please make du'aa for me that it will go smoothly, as this is a person who is older than me, who raised me for almost 9 years I have a lot of respect for her and I love her for the sake of Allaah.
